Ice Cream and Gelato

Good afternoon! We are supposed to get some snow this afternoon through tomorrow. I'm not sure if it'll be a lot, but at least we will get some flurries! Although it's cold outside, I don't think it's ever too cold for ice cream! Here is my ode to ice cream (and gelato):

One of my favorite places to go to eat when I visit my Dad is Boccato Gelato & Espresso. This amazing gelato shop in Clarendon (an awesome area to live). There is a Pottery Barn and a Whole Foods right next door to each other. Heaven? Yes. Below is a camera photo I took of this fudgy chocolate gelato I got there this summer. I got the smallest serving I could get and still couldn't finish it because it's so rich!

A new gelato place I tried out on my birthday is called The Split Banana Company in Staunton, VA. Chocolate & cookies and cream...yum!

Milwaukee's Frozen Custard has been a favorite of mine since my Dad moved to Woodbridge, VA when I was in 8th grade? Somewhere around there. Their chocolate custard is divine...it's so creamy, there's really nothing like it!

There have been a lot of fun create-your-own frozen yogurt joints popping up! One of my favorites at home in VA Beach is The Skinny Dip. They have a lot of great frozen yogurt flavors and endless toppings! My favorite combination is probably the chocolate frozen yogurt with oreos, fudge, and strawberries. :)

As I mentioned in a previous post, I love the cookies and cream ice cream at Kline's Dairy Bar here in Harrisonburg.

Enjoy the snow! I wonder if we'll get a repeat of last year's Snowpocalypse:
