Cha Cha Cha Changes
Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great start to the week! This week has been front loaded with a ton of meetings, but it’s been great so far. Luckily, it’s a slow week class-wise so I have some time to prep for my interview next week.
Recently, I realized that I have gotten into a breakfast rut. I am such a creature of habit that once I find something I like to eat, I eat it every day. For example, salad beasts for lunch, protein ice cream, and last but not least…almond butter and banana oatmeal. While repetitive meals aren’t bad, I eventually get burned out! This is sad given that these are some of my favorite meals. This week, I challenged myself to make a different breakfast every day! Here are Monday and Tuesday’s breakfasts:
Blueberry Oats
Ingredients
-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
-1 T Chia Seeds
-1/2 cup frozen blueberries
-1/2 tsp honey
-dash salt
Yeah, I ate breakfast at my desk at work like a cool kid. I stayed up too late watching the Super Bowl, and attempting to watch Glee, making it a s-l-o-w morning. This girl definitely needs more than 6 hours of sleep a night!
----
On my way out the door this morning, I saw the most beautiful sunrise! This view was definitely worth getting up so early!
This morning I made a different type of oatmeal:
Chocolate Almond Butter & Banana Oats
Ingredients
-1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-1/2 cup oats
-1 banana
-1 T chia seeds
-1 packet Justin’s chocolate almond butter
Last week, these little packets of AB were 50 cents each! That’s a great deal given that they are regularly $1.30 a pop, which is kind of a rip off. I guess convenience = $$! The chocolate almond butter was definitely a winner. I like it a lot better than PB&Co’s Dark Chocolate Dreams, probably because I prefer AB to PB.
