New Job!
Hey everyone!
I figured it was time to update the good ol' blogeroo. The past few weekends have been so busy and an entire blur! Two weekends ago, I packed, moved, unpacked, and organized everything at my Dads! I feel bad because the first level of my Dad's townhouse is FULL of my stuff! Luckily for him it'll only be like this for a month. Otherwise, a storage unit would have been the way to go.
Work has been going well so far. I'm not going to say where I work on the blog due to social media restrictions. Things are a bit slow going, as they are with any new job, so hopefully things will pick up soon! The best thing about work so far is the break room/kitchen. Unlimited soda (too bad I don't drink it), popcorn (!!!!), coffee (so many pods to choose from), and tea!! Obviously, my caffeine habit has picked up again. I can't say no to free, good coffee...especially when I have to be up by 5:30am. I am able to work 8-4 which has done WONDERS to my afternoon commute home! Usually it takes between an hour and a half to two hours for my entire commute (morning + afternoon). That sounds horrible, but it's not that bad thanks to this hilarious radio station I've been listening to (99.5 The Kane Show for those of you in the area). I will say that it is SO nice to have a TON of radio stations to listen to here compared to Harrisonburg. Sadly, work has turned me into a grandma again. I have to go to bed no later than 10-10:30pm because I have to get up at 5:30am in order to make it out the door by 6:30am! I will be so happy to move into my apt in a month that's walking distance from work! :)
A lot of friends and family have asked if I was very sad to leave Harrisonburg or if I miss it already. At first I didn't. I was too clouded by the stress of moving out (cleaning a 2-story townhouse by yourself is a nightmare) and excitement of moving to a new place. But now, I want to be back at JMU soooo baddddd!!! Seriously, never leave JMU if you are there now. While I miss school, especially the challenge it offers, I am realizing how important it is to step outside of what you're familiar with and get experiences elsewhere. I now understand why people in the working world have told me that I should learn from different people, work with different people, and live in a different place. There is so much to learn from other people, good and bad, and it will definitely help mold you into a better professional!
That's it for the previous "textbooks" side of the blog. Well, that and the fact that I'm reading my stats books for FUN (I know) and in my spare time (...).
There haven't been too many new recipes to share lately. One recipe that my Dad and I made last weekend was pizza! We made the dough in a bread machine (it had dried herbs and garlic) and topped it with pizza sauce and lots of veggies!
It was pretty good, but I definitely prefer to use marinara sauce because it has a little more salt (which this pizza was lacking).
I'm off to look for room inspiration for my new place online. Next time I won't go forever between posts. Have a great night! :)

Congrats on the new job! I also prefer using marinara sauce, although whatever the sauce it, I rarely say no to pizza!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm with you on that, there is rarely a time when I say no to pizza :)
